About Us

Prescott & Pearson, P.A.

The Busiest and Most Experienced Bankruptcy Attorneys in Minnesota Since 1975

Long before today's economic depression started the trend that seems to have turned just about every other lawyer into a bankruptcy lawyer — the lawyers at Prescott & Pearson were busy helping Minnesota families and small business owners obtain sorely-needed debt relief.

Today, over 70,000 bankruptcy petitions later, we are still focused exclusively on helping people understand and make their way through the bankruptcy process. And we are still providing these high quality Chapter 13 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy services at competitive rates.

Are you facing foreclosure, garnishment or creditor harassment? Is bankruptcy right for you? Get the answers and information you need to make an informed choice by calling or contacting our Twin Cities law offices for a free consultation.

Leaders in Making Legal Services More Accessible

In the 1977 case of Bates v. State Bar of Arizona, and based in part on American Bar Association evidence that the middle 70 percent of the U.S. population was not being reached or served adequately by the legal profession — the United States Supreme Court held that law firms and attorneys had a First Amendment right to advertise their services.

A short time later, and years before most law firms got on board — Jack Prescott began making quality bankruptcy services more accessible to the majority of Minnesotans with his now-famous television commercials and slogan: "This is all I do and I do it well."

Leaders in Client Service

Bankruptcy isn't a free ride for free spenders. In truth, there are usually significant financial, psychological and emotional costs that come with the decision. The bottom line is that no one needs to make you feel bad or look down on you. We certainly never will.

In fact, making clients feel welcome, treating them with dignity and respect, and helping them feel at peace with the decision to file bankruptcy are the secrets to our firm's success. These efforts have also led to countless referrals from other law firms in the Upper Midwest, and to repeat business from clients who once again find themselves in financial trouble due to circumstances beyond their control.
