Early in his career, attorney Jack Prescott earned part of his income by collecting debts for businesses. But even as a debt collector, Jack believed it was right to treat people with dignity and respect. Soon, some of the people who had experienced this strange phenomenon of not being threatened or treated like dirt by a debt collector began to call on Jack for help with bankruptcy. The rest, as they say, is history.
In 1975, Jack made the decision to focus his practice solely on bankruptcy. He was joined in practice by Richard Pearson, in 1983. And in time, the name of the firm changed to what it is now: Prescott & Pearson, P.A.
Today, over 70,000 bankruptcy petitions later — we're proud to say that we're still the most experienced bankruptcy attorneys in Minnesota, and we're still the nicest. We now have five attorneys and a dedicated staff of legal support professionals, many of whom have been with us for years.
